Getting Started

Do I need to create an account?

No. Sonvo has no login, no sign-up, and no password. Just open the app and start recording.

How do I record a note?

Tap the microphone button on the Record tab and start talking. Tap it again to stop — your note is transcribed automatically.

Can I record without opening the app?

Yes. Add the Sonvo widget to your Home Screen: long-press an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the + button, search for "Sonvo," and add the "Sonvo Quick Record" widget. Tapping it opens straight into recording.

Recording & Transcription

What languages does Sonvo support?

Sonvo automatically detects the language you're speaking. If it's different from the language selected in the app, Sonvo translates it for you; if it matches, Sonvo just cleans up punctuation and formatting.

Why is the beginning of my recording sometimes missing a word or two?

Give the microphone a brief moment to start up before speaking — Sonvo shows a "Preparing…" indicator for a fraction of a second at the start of every recording specifically to protect against this.

What happens if I lose internet connection mid-recording?

Your recording is never lost. If Sonvo can't reach the transcription service, it keeps your audio and lets you retry once you're back online, instead of discarding it.

Can I organize my notes?

Yes. Every note gets a suggested title and category tags automatically, and you can add your own custom tags from the Profile tab to keep things organized your way.

Plans & Subscriptions

What's the difference between Free, Pro, and Ultra?

All three give you the full transcription, translation, and tagging experience — the difference is how many minutes of recording you get per day: Free (10 min/day), Pro (30 min/day), Ultra (180 min/day). Your daily allowance resets automatically at midnight.

How do I upgrade?

Tap "Upgrade" next to your plan on the Home screen or Profile tab, and choose Pro or Ultra.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through your Apple ID, not through Sonvo directly. Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or tap "Manage Subscription" in Sonvo's Profile tab.

I upgraded but it's not showing up — what do I do?

Tap "Restore Purchases" on the upgrade screen. This re-checks your Apple ID for any active subscription and restores it immediately.

Privacy & Data

Is my voice data safe?

Yes. Sonvo has no accounts and doesn't track you. Your recorded audio is sent securely only to generate your transcription and isn't kept afterward. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Where are my notes stored?

On your device only. Sonvo does not store your notes on any server.

What happens to my notes if I delete the app?

Notes stored locally on your device are removed along with the app. Back up anything important before uninstalling.

Troubleshooting

Sonvo says it needs microphone access — what do I do?

Go to Settings → Sonvo on your device and make sure Microphone access is turned on.

The app isn't transcribing anything.

Check your internet connection first — transcription requires a connection to process your recording. If you're online and it's still not working, email us at awaiskaleem@gmail.com with a description of what happened and we'll look into it.
